Cleveland Gay Hotline

The Gay Hotline and Switchboard is another service provided by the GEAR Foundation Staffed completely by volunteers, the Hotline provides information and referral in a variety of different areas. Resources include extensive information on the social alternatives in Cleveland and across the United States. A comprehensive listing of community services is also available including medical and legal referrals. The Hotline also serves its callers who are in need of peer counseling in areas such as sexuality, coming out and relationship problems.

Currently the Hotline is attempting to enlarge its list of professional referrals. An increased effort is being made to keep the community informed as

to what's going on in Cleveland on a daily basis Future goals include extension of the number of hours covered per week from 32 to 75, and perhaps a more comprehensive training program for the development of counseling skills for its volunteers. The Hotline is also planning the addition to a TTY machine to aid in the communication with the deaf over the phone, and is looking forward to moving to a new location when the Gay Community Center relocates early next year.

Individuals interested in finding out more about the Hotline or becoming a Hotline volunteer should call 216-621-3380, 7 to 11 evenings or 1 to 9 PM Sundays for more information.

SWISH: a poetry journal

STEVENS POINT, WI-Swish, a biannual poetry journal, is seeking submissions and subscriptions. Poetry should explore sexuality (gay or nongay, lesbian or noniesbian) as "essential to wholeness," according to the editor, Louie Crew. The first issue, consisting of some 80 pages, is planned for Summer/ Autumn, 1980. Deadline for submissions is April 1, 1980, and persons who submit material must enclose a stamped selfaddressed envelope. Payment is in copies only. The subscription rate is $8

According to the editor. "Swish aspires to move beyond the important but limitedly phallic vision of much private, confessional lesbian and gay male poetry... Swish summons elect feminists, militant closet queens, nellie bishops, celibate intellectuals, and all other salts to share here their most articulate reformation hymns."

Correspondence and submissions may be addressed to Swish, Louie Crew, Editor, P.O. Box 754. Stevens Point, WI 54481.
